Photobiomodulation: A Non-Invasive Solution for Low Back Pain Management

In 2015, I had the privilege of meeting with Dr. Michael Hamblin, a renowned Harvard researcher and the world’s most published and cited authority in the field of Photobiomodulation (PBM) A Non-Invasive Solution for Low Back Pain Management. With over three decades of research into the science and clinical potential of PBM—particularly in treating brain-related injuries—Dr. Hamblin provided invaluable insight into the field's future. He supported the idea of involving both my eldest son and my nephew (then a dentistry student at Boston University) in the project, recognizing that advancing this technology toward broader adoption and clinical integration would require a collaborative effort. During our meeting, Dr. Hamblin shared one of his seminal papers detailing the powerful anti-inflammatory mechanisms of PBM—a groundbreaking study that is now widely cited in discussions on PBM’s role in pain management.
